Eat breakfast every morning. Many people skip breakfast because they do not have time to eat, or they simply do not feel like eating in the morning. You’re already going in the wrong direction if you begin your day without proper nutrition. If you have a sweet tooth, or want to binge on potato chips, it is an addiction you must beat if you wish to be healthier. Over a period of years, a person can become far too reliant on the taste and convenience of junk food. Cravings for these foods stick around, even after you have made a switch to a more healthful diet. It helps to realize when you are craving junk foods and replace that desire with a healthy alternative. Getting your daily recommended amount of protein from a variety of sources, rather than meat alone, is the smarter strategy. Other foods can provide the main source of protein in your diet. Some other healthy sources of protein are nuts, beans, fish, milk, and eggs. Many of these are versatile enough to be used as either additives to dishes or as the main course. Get proteins of all kinds into your diet so you don’t get bored.
Experts agree that you need to reduce the amount of processed flour and grains in your diet. When you take the hull out of the equation, you get rid of the health benefits. Is it really logical to eliminate the nutrients and then try to restore them by purchasing fiber additives to make the grain more nutritious? No. This does not make any sense when you could get your nutrients from eating the whole grains.
